Oral Conscious Sedation

You can take an oral sedative before your appointment to keep your mind and body calm until your treatment is complete. We’ll provide the pill ahead of time along with instructions regarding when you need to ingest it. The effects will kick in before you get to our office, and they’ll linger for quite a while before wearing off completely; make arrangements to have someone else drive for you before and after an appointment where oral conscious sedation is used.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

We recommend nitrous oxide for less severe cases of dental anxiety. It involves very little in the way of preparation; you simply wear a nasal mask throughout your appointment and breathe in nitrous oxide mixed with oxygen while we work on your teeth. You’ll be in a highly relaxed state of mind, but you’ll still be awake and able to follow instructions. Since nitrous oxide wears off within minutes after you stop breathing it in, you won’t have to worry about altering your plans for the rest of the day.
